9 Eyeshadow Tips For HOODED Eyes

1. DON’T PLACE EYESHADOW BELOW THE LINE:

Pretend there is an imaginary line from the corner of your outer eye to the tail of your brow.

2. PLACE CREASE COLOR ABOVE YOUR NATURAL CREASE

When you hear or see directions to “put shadow in the crease of your lid” resist the urge!

3. PLACE BROW HIGHLIGHT CAREFULLY:

If you use it all over your top lid, you'll only make the hood stand out and make your eyes look puffier than they really are.

4. USE LIGHTER COLORS ON THE LOWER LID:

Try a lighter eyeshadow color or even mascara with glitter. If you use dark colors on your lower lid, it can make your eyes look smaller and more closed.

5. USE A FINE EYELINER:

If your eyeliner is too thick, it could cover up too much of your lower lid, and if your eyes are small like mine, it can look like you're wearing black eyeshadow.

6. CURL YOUR EYELASHES:

Yup, it’s important. And, you may need an eyelash curler that really gets tight to your skin.

7. USE CONCEALER UNDER YOUR EYES:

There are a lot of great ways to use makeup to make your under-eye area look brighter and to make your eyes look longer.

8. BLEND EYESHADOW COLORS LIGHT TO DARK FROM INNER CORNER OUT:

Another great tip is to use eyeshadow colors that get lighter as you move from the inside corner of your eye to the outside corner.

9. PRIME YOUR LIDS:

If you have droopy eyes, the colors of your eyeshadow can start to rub off as you open and close your eyes.
