Alaska Airlines To End Some Seasonal Florida Routes
Alaska Airlines offers winter escapes with various seasonal itineraries from Seattle. This airline once connected Portland International Airport
to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and Tampa International Airport in winter and ended in early April.
Cirium predicted a different winter. Alaska planned to fly both flights until May until last week.
Not anymore, starting this week. Last week, Portland-Tampa service was scheduled to terminate on May 11, but it will now end on April 13,
four weeks early. Fort Lauderdale service will now only run on the 5 and 12 in April, instead of April 16–May 15. Alaska lost 5,814 seats on each route in April
Alaska Airlines announced three coast-to-coast services in June, one of which launches on November 17. From then on, the airline will operate
its Boeing 737-900ER from Portland to Miami year-round. Red-eye flights leave at 22:00 and arrive in Miami at 06:40 the next day. Return
flights leave MIA in the morning and arrive at PDX at 11:45. The new route will complement seasonal service to FLL and represent the carrier's second new Miami route
