Southwest To Offer Free Same-Day Standby For Everyone
Southwest Airlines is known for its flexibility and customer service. There are no luggage fees or change or cancellation costs on the airline.
Southwest will offer free same-day standby on its cheapest flights soon. Flight Wi-Fi will be complimentary on Business Select tickets soon.
These new advantages apply to Southwest Rapid Rewards award tickets. Southwest credit cards and Chase Ultimate Rewards card transfers are straightforward
Southwest defines same-day as the day of your flight, not 24 hours prior. You can join the standby list from midnight the day of your flight until 10
minutes before departure. Only “soon” is the commencement date for the new standby policy. This update is good and could save you money if needed.
Remember that same-day standby is different from confirmed modifications. Wanna Get Away fares have not been updated for same-day modifications.
Wanna Get Away Plus fares offer free same-day verified modifications, so you don't pay the fare difference when you need more flexibility.
If the flight operates between the same city pairs and falls on the same calendar date, you can select any flight that departs before your originally
scheduled flight, regardless of connections. Switching from a route with connections to a nonstop flight is also allowed.
Southwest will soon provide complimentary Wi-Fi with Business Select tickets. Internet costs $8 per device for everybody.
