Taco Bell Is Coming for McDonald's—Starting With a Big Menu Change

Yum! Brands, Taco Bell's parent company, just announced that French fries may soon be highlighted.

The creators of Doritos Locos Taco and Crunchwrap Supreme are considering making fries a full-time menu option to compete with McDonald's.

The chain's fries are beloved, but they've only been on the menu seldom. Despite their limited availability, they were Taco Bell's most popular

item, selling 53 million orders in the first five weeks following launch, surpassing Doritos Locos Tacos. We're shocked the chain waited so long

Taco Bell CEO Mark King said, "We're looking at bringing fries permanently to the menu," during an investor presentation on Dec. 13.

In 2018, Nacho Fries were introduced as a Mexican-centric menu innovation. These fries are seasoned with a specific blend of spices and

come with a distinctive nacho cheese dipping sauce, setting them apart from conventional fast-food fries.

Taco Bell has clearly identified scarcity as a crucial factor in the success of its famous spuds. Other fan ideas include Taco Bell outlets not having

adequate freezer room to keep the spuds year-round. The chain believes having fries on the menu will boost lunch, dinner, and fourth-meal sales,

"We've been in and out of breakfast for seven years," he told Nation's Restaurant News. It's time to commit. We are committed to closing both gaps
