Wendy's Just Confirmed the Return Date For Its Seasonal Fish Sandwich

Later this month, Wendy's will bring back a popular seasonal treat for fish lovers, pescatarians, and Lent-goers.

The Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich will return on Feb. 20, according to the chain's spokesman. On Feb. 22, the sandwich will return for no-meat Fridays.

Wendy's square patty hamburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, baked potatoes, and Frostys are famous.

Wendy's Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich replaced its North Pacific Cod sandwich with creamy dill tartar sauce, pickles, and lettuce in 2021.

The Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich, unlike the North Pacific Cod sandwich, uses Wild Alaskan Pollock.

The chain explained the switch by praising pollock fillets' sustainability and "similar flavor experience" to cod. Pollock is cheaper than cod

Wendy's panko fish sandwich returned in 2022 after a "well-received debut" in 2021.

Our 2022 assessment of 13 fast-food fish sandwiches placed Wendy's Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich sixth.

The sandwich was praised for its seasoning, toppings, and toasted bun, but criticized for its dry fish and hard breading.

The sandwich is one of several from fast-food businesses that employ entire fish instead of fish supplemented with fillers and other additives.
